Our centre

Elite Early Childhood Education is a beautiful expansive centre. The indoor environment is cosy and full of warmth radiating from the teachers. The outdoor environment includes a large play area with plenty of room to run, jump and play, two split level sandpits, a whare and a stream which we control the water flow to, a challenge course, gardens, a bike track and much more.

Elite Early Childhood Education has a team of experienced, highly skilled, dedicated and passionate teachers. We have four qualified ECE teachers and one teacher in training. We believe in strong relationships based on trust and respect with you the whanau and your precious children. Our centre believes in an open-door policy and building strong mutual connections with all members of the centre. We have a positive centre and you can feel the positivity and warmth of our team when you walk through the door.

Elite Early Childhood Education is committed to meeting both you and your child’s needs. We are flexible with the hours you would like to book your child in. Any time between 8 am and 5pm.

Healthy eating

We provide breakfast but this is dependant on the COVID-19 levels of safety and hygiene. We teach children about healthy eating for a healthy life so we encourage children to eat their healthy food out of their lunchboxes first and to save treat food for later.

We would rather children didn’t bring drink bottles as we have fresh water and clean cups available for children throughout the day.

Te Whariki Early Childhood Curriculum is the document that guides our teaching. We consult with you the parent to ensure that we provide the best learning activities to assist your child to meet their individual goals. Your child’s learning and development will be recorded through our Educa learning platform and in their personal profile folder.

In your child’s folder you will find a parent/whanau aspiration form. This is where you record what you would like your chid to learn, the teacher’s learning goal for your child and a record of your child’s learning through activities provided for them. There will also be an evaluation of their learning that you will have input into alongside the teacher. There will also be plenty of photos, samples of artwork and anything that is relevant to your child’s learning and development. This folder is something for you to treasure, so keep it safe and look at it often in the years to come!

Child enjoying the rain

We deliver a play-based curriculum with intentional teaching activities and we have a flexible daily routine woven through our day which has little disruption to our children’s learning and play.

School visits

We have good relationships with the local schools. We provide school visits for your child once they are close to starting school. This is also dependant on the COVID-19 levels. We are also members of the local Kahui Ako who are preparing a document to ensure a seamless transition to schools for our children and also ensuring that new entrant classes are in line with Te Whariki New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum and the way we teach in early childhood education.

Community garden

We have a community garden that you the parent are welcome to work in or to help yourself to vegetables. We always welcome help with this garden as we are still learning about growing our own vegetables. We also have a strawberry garden that the children can help themselves to when the strawberries are ripe. This is a much-loved garden and the children delight in searching and finding beautiful red ripe strawberries. We also have some fruit trees and are planning on planting more over the next couple of years.

We have many celebrations throughout the year these include birthday celebrations, Diwali celebrations, Matariki celebrations, Special person celebrations, Teddy Bear picnics, etc. We are happy to incorporate any celebrations that you want us to! We love having special celebrations here at Elite Early Childhood Education. We also enter a Christmas Parade Float every year and love having parent help and input into this too!
